The two key assessments taken into consideration when scoring your essay are Fluency and Pronunciation, therefore you should focus all your attention on these 2 factors.
Focus On Fluency
- Speak at your natural pace.
- Do not try to rush through the text as it will negatively impact your fluency.
- Make sure you pause at full stops and mark the commas and semi-colons. Remember to slightly raise your voice at the end of a question.
Speak Clearly
-
Many people make the mistake of faking a British or American accent. You are not scored based on your accent so keep your natural tone and pace.
-
Raising your tone on contrast words, by reading them in a slightly louder voice and a falling tone at the end of the sentence will improve your score.
Keep Speaking
If you realize a mistake, donโt stop! Just keep speaking, otherwise the microphone will stop recording after 3 seconds. Read Aloud!
